Attractive facilities that support student life
Located in Makuhari New City Area in Chiba Prefecture, Kanda University of International Studies (KUIS) is just 30-minutes by communter train to Tokyo and 40-minutes by airport limousine to Narita International Airport. Situtated in a model school zone, the university prides itself on a spacious campus. International corporations such as IBM, Cannon and SEIKO are in close proximity to KUIS.
Building 1
This is the main building for KUIS education and research. The classrooms here have the capacity for 30 students and are used primarily for language education. Building 1 also houses individual professor offices, research centers, administrative offices and a business plaza (entrance examination center).

The glass-walled classrooms in Building 1 create a positive sense of tension as each classroom can be seen from the classroom next door.

Kandagaigo Kids’ Club
Kandagaigo Kids’ Club has specialized children’s English language classrooms and aims to raise ‘little cosmopolitans’. The children here get a taste of the campus atmosphere at a young age.

Computer Assisted Language Learning
Furnished with a wider range of equipment, these classrooms have the capacity to host one-on-one lessons, group conversation classes and interpreting sessions. There are plans to install simultaneous interpreting booths in the future.
Building 2
Building 2 contains medium-sized classrooms used primarily for foundation subject lessons. It is centrally located, connecting buildings 1,3 and 4
Building 3
Computer laboratories and graduate school research offices are located here. A shop is located on the ground floor.
Building 4
Building 4 houses a wide variety of classroom types, including a 400-person capacity lecture hall, 17 small classrooms for language classes, four 70-person capacity medium-sized classrooms and two 150-person capacity large-sized classrooms.

CAEDE（Culture Exchange Deck）
Relaxed interaction with international exchange students in the CAEDE lounge. The lounge is lively with students between classes and during lunch break.

Building 4 Lecture Hall （4-101）
This is the largest tiered lecture hall at KUIS. Most classes at KUIS are small, but this hall , with a 400-person capacity, is used for cross-departmental common curriculum lectures. The hall is also used widely for extra-curricular activities, such as symposiums or career guidance seminars.

Building 5 (Millennium House)
This facility comprises a number of student services that aim to make student life fulfilling, from academic and club activities to career or study abroad consultation as well as personal relationship counseling services (multi-purpose hall, Japanese washitsu, career center, medical center).

Millennium Hall
The‘Millennium Hall’, located inside the ‘Millennium House’, is used for student theatre or musical recitals or practice sessions. It is also available for hire to the local community.

Career Education Center
This center is two small classrooms merged together used for career development lessons. Computers are available for use to search for information regarding job hunting.

Japanese Washitsu (Happu-kyo)
‘Happu-kyo’is an authentic Japanese style room located in Millennium House. It is approximately 40 tatami-mats in size. It hosts regular seminars to experience traditional Japanese culture. Popular hands-on workshops on shamisen, koto and tea ceremony are open to the public.

Medical Center
The medical center treats injuries and illness, and also has counseling services. Accessible and open to everyone.
Building 6
The first floor is Media Plaze where students can use PCs freely. The second floor houses Academic Success Center (ASC) and KUIS Volunteer Center. The ASC is facility which provides opportunity for deep understanding of Japanese and English grammar or vocabulary to our students through peer tutoring or workshop. There is also KUIS Volunteer Center where many students visit and get the information about volunteer they can join.
Building 7
The first floor is the library; the second floor houses the MULC, the multi-language center and the third floor is the café. Building 7, from whose rooftop terrace the entire vivid green campus can be seen, earned the Good Design Award in 2009. With an open and expansive space, it is used daily by many students.

Building 8
KUIS 8 is a new facility which opened on April 7th 2017 to house the SALC (Self-Access Learning Center), the ELI (English Language Institute), 16 classrooms, a cafe, and RILAE (Research Institute of learner Autonomy Education).
Building 7 houses the library, designed with a ‘learn and enjoy’ theme and distinctive glass-walled classrooms that are bright and expansive.
